What we do

Wye Valley Music promotes chamber music concerts in venues in the Wye Valley. In 2010 it expects to promote 12 concerts through the year in at least three venues. We will showcase promising students and support artists launching their careers, but most of our events will be performed by world-class musicians on their way to a world-class career. Some will already have arrived. We choose our venues mainly on the basis of their kind musical acoustic qualities. St Briavels is not particularly comfortable but is quaint with an excellent acoustic; Wyastone is functional, air- |
conditioned and in a beautiful rural setting; Hellens Manor is a beautiful historic house in Much Marcle, a living monument to much of England's history. Most venues have fine, modern concert grand pianos. Run on a shoestring by a small group of volunteers, we could do more and better if we had more helpers willing to spend a few hours a week on interesting, worthwhile projects.
