Discover the music of Madeleine Dring! During her short lifetime Dring wrote a number of works in a range of genres, including many small-scale miniatures. A celebratory programme of pieces by London-born Madeleine Dring (1923-1977), together with music by her contemporaries and inspirations, including Gurney, Sullivan, Britten and Gershwin. Talented young pianist Olivia Dance and mezzo soprano Lorna Day, who sings with the Kantos Chamber Choir and the BBC Radio 4 service singers, bring their fresh take on a little-known British composer.

Madeleine Dring – Shakespeare songs and Betjeman songs

Ralph Vaughan Williams – Silent Noon

Arthur Sullivan – Orpheus With His Lute & The Willow Song

George Gershwin – The Man I Love, I Love to Rhyme & Isn’t it a Pity?
