Two of the finest soloists and chamber musicians of their generation team up for this recital. Daniel and Robin are well known to local audiences through their leading roles in the annual Wye Valley Chamber Music Winter Festival, as well as through their celebrated recordings.
Robin studied at the Royal Academy of Music with David Strange and Colin Carr and later with Ferenc Rados. He is principal cellist in Orchestre Revolutionnaire et Romantique, and a regular guest with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. He plays on a cello made for him by the German luthier Stephan von Behr in 2010.
Daniel grew up in Somerset but now lives in London. He first came to prominence as piano finalist in a BBC Young Musicians competition and now enjoys a diverse musical life, performing as soloist and chamber musician, directing two chamber music festivals, and also teaching and writing.
