St Mary's Priory Church, Monmouth - Monmouth Priory Church

Georgian Church in Monmouth town centre, remodelled in Victorian times. It is by far the tallest building in Monmouth, the gilded cockerel atop its spire is some 205 feet above ground level, and can be seen from all approaches into the town.

From the A40 westbound turn right into Dixton Road (A466) at Dixton roundabout on the outskirts of Monmouth. Follow Dixton Rd to the first traffic lights. Turn left and park in Monk Street or continue straight on (Monnow Street). At the end of Agingourt Square turn left into Agincourt Street and then left into Glendower St. The central car park is a few yards along on the left after the left-hand bend. Continue on foot through the car park and turn right at the end; walk along Church St until you reach the church.

From the A40 eastbound turn left at the traffic lights (A466 intersection), left again at the end of Wyebridge St and park in the Glendower Street car park, a few yards along on the right. Continue on foot through the car park and turn right at the end; walk along Church St until you reach the church.

From Chepstow follow the A466 over the A40 at the traffic lights into Wyebridge Street. At the end of Wyebridge Street turn left, then park in the Glendower Street car park, a few yards along on the right. Continue on foot through the car park and turn right at the end; walk along Church St until you reach the church.

From Coleford/Gloucester direction (A4136) join the A466 just south of the town and proceed as if coming from Chepstow (above).

From the Rockfield direction (B4233) turn left at the traffic lights on Cinderhill Street, left at the roundabout and follow the road round to the right into Monnow Street. Turn right into Agincourt Street as you reach Agincourt Square, then left into Glendower Street. The central carpark is a few yards along on the left after the left-hand bend. Continue on foot through the car park and turn right at the end; walk along Church St until you reach the church.

From Hereford: At the traffic lights intersection with Dixton Road/Monmouth Street go straight across and park in Monk Street or turn right into Monnow Street. At the end of Agingourt Square turn left into Agincourt Street and then left into Glendower St. The central carpark is a few yards along on the left after the left-hand bend. into Monmouth Street. Continue on foot through the car park and turn right at the end; walk along Church St until you reach the church.

Parking:
Out of hours parking available in nearby streets - Priory Street, Monk Street and Whitecross Street.

The central car park in Monmouth (Glendower Street) can be approached from Monnow Street via Agincourt Street and Glendower Street, or via St James Street and Almshouse Street from Whitecross Street.

The limited parking in the churchyard, (access from Monk Street) will be reserved for use by the performers.
